Go Giant Bar Clam Digging on PEI

On this 4-hour adventure, we start out from historic Georgetown aboard our newly renovated 45-foot lobster style boat, the “Tranquility.” We head out east, 8 km to the deserted island of Boughton where the very best of the clamming grounds are awaiting us to scour the sand bars searching/digging for these giant clams.

When we dig enough clams we hit the beach to steam the clams to perfection then pass them around for all to enjoy. There will be lots of time to beach comb and explore. Captain Perry’s father and grandfather lived on Boughton, so he has lots of stories to tell about this special place.

On our way back to port the adventure continues. We will haul a mussel sock, a rock crab pot, and a lobster trap, showing and telling you all about these top three industries here on PEI. We will swing by the Panmure Island Lighthouse, the oldest wooden lighthouse on PEI, giving you the opportunity to get a photo from the water of this great nautical landmark. To finish up we will visit the local harbour seal colony, 60+ strong; we can get very close to them at times.

On this PEI adventure, we provide all the clam digging gear needed: wetsuits, masks, snorkels, water boots, and clamming rakes. There are cold soft drinks and a water dispenser on board; bringing your own water container is great. We have hot coffee and energy bars free onboard also.
